Tell Lawmakers: SB 344 is a non-starter—LGBT Hoosiers need full protections, nothing less!

Today at 1:30pm, the Indiana Senate will consider amendments to SB3 344—short-sighted legislation that claims to update our state's civil rights law, but actually actually leaves LGBT Hoosiers more vulnerable to discrimination than they already are.

Senate Bill 344 continues to fall far short of ending legal discrimination against LGBT people in our state. It omits transgender people entirely and provides sweeping religious carveouts that undermine the very purpose of the civil rights law.

Once again, lawmakers are creating complex and convoluted bills as solutions to a problem that's got an easy fix. Tell your lawmakers to fully protect LGBT Hoosiers by adding "sexual orientation, gender identity" to existing civil rights law. 4 words and a comma. Nothing more, nothing less.
