Employment Non-Discrimination Has Been Affirmed in Indiana!
The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals—which covers Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin—has ruled that employment non-discrimination protections can be applied on the basis of sexual orientation.
Today’s ruling marks the highest court in the nation to affirm these much-needed protections, and we have a Hoosier to thank for that. In 2014, Kimberly Hively faced employment discrimination at her job in South Bend because she is a lesbian. So she, with help from Lambda Legal, filed a lawsuit against her former employer.
Kimberly’s determination and courage have brought us closer than ever to ensuring employment protections for gay and lesbian Hoosiers. Will you help us congratulate her and tell her thanks by leaving a message below?
